Hi there,
Very sad news, I found one of my bristle nose plecs dead this morning, no external symptoms to be seen, and no apparent change in behaviour in the prior days. (although it's not always easy to see a change of behaviour in these elusive creatures. )
My other bristlenose was very clearly a male, he's very territorial, and has got substantially longer bristles. I think the other one may have been a female, based on her timid behaviour, and 'flatter' fins. when i found her dead, her belly was only a little more swollen - do you think this could indicate anything at all? (Or do fish, like mammals, also swell when they die?)
Anyways, have done a 100l water change this weekend, and just watching carefully. Got two beautiful little angels from Derek... my older ones terrorized them at first, but they seem well now. |
