Greetings all,
I know that some people consider snails a pest… I used to think so, until I read how they can benefit your tank in some ways, like aerating the soil (true?)… But most of all, I don’t mind them, because they’re delicious for my clown loaches.
But I am having a hard time getting the empty shells out of my tank, after they have become a meal. Even chasing the shells around with a net reaps little results, as they just roll around on the bottom.
My concern is, what effect do the empty shells have on the water quality? Do they at all effect the ammonia levels, or the pH? Should I be worried that too many shells can create problems?
Does anyone have any insight?
